 | MLBA Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Simmons Friday, July 1st, 2011: When Howard Simmons stepped up to the plate in June, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the MLB Single A Batter of the Month award. The young Milton-Freewater left fielder posted a .324 batting average with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 25 runs. Simmons also worked pitchers for 14 walks to post a .417 on-base percentage. This season Simmons has banged out 82 hits in 261 at-bats for a .314 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .424 pace and his totals also include 29 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |   |
