 | Bailey Raps Chicago (N) for 5 Hits Tuesday, August 31st, 2010: If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Clifton Bailey showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Chicago (N) Cubs and helped the Pittsburgh Pirates beat them 10-0. The manager for the Cubs told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Bailey keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. Clifton Bailey singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Bailey is batting .358 with 14 home runs and 73 RBIs. |
