Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: A 5-0 record with a 1.26 ERA is a pretty good month for most any pitcher. The Eastern League thought it was worthy of an award and named Mac Blevins, starter for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, August's Pitcher of the Month.
He also held the opposition to a .217 average while posting 26 strikeouts in 50 innings.
On his stats sheet this season Blevins shows a 8-0 record, 10 starts, 80.2 innings, 40 strikeouts and a 2.01 ERA.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: His solid numbers speak for themselves. That's why Anthony Walter of the Reading Phillies was named the Eastern League's best batter in August.
The Reading second baseman starred with a .330 batting average, 4 home runs and 13 RBIs.
So far this season Walter has put up a .291 batting average with 110 hits, 13 home runs and 66 RBIs.

Monday, August 30th, 2010: Harrisburg Senators center fielder Woody Carter, at the top of his game all last week, was a consensus choice today for the Eastern League Player of the Week.
He victimized opposing pitchers for a .458 batting average on 11 hits in 24 at-bats, piling up 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
During the current season Carter is batting at a .286 clip with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 87 games and scored 51 times.
