Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: When Gerald Sawyer takes the hill, he usually takes command of the game -- at least that's the way it was in August. The outcome was usually a Clearwater victory. His fine 5-1 performance earned him the Florida State League Pitcher of the Month trophy.
The talented Threshers hurler made 6 starts, worked 47.1 innings, permitted 37 base hits, and struck out 26 while putting up a 2.47 ERA.
For this year Sawyer has chalked up 7 wins and 2 losses in 13 starts with 70 strikeouts in 94 innings and a 3.16 ERA.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: The vote is in and Andrew Robbins, the 25-year-old first baseman for Clearwater, is the winner. Today he was honored with the Florida State League Batter of the Month award.
In August, Robbins wowed voters with a .400 average while posting up 6 home runs, 24 RBIs, 25 runs scored and a .455 on-base percentage.
In his 2010 season totals, Robbins has 18 home runs, .400 BA, .456 OBP, 71 RBIs and 75 runs scored.
