Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: Troy Coates is on a tear! After posting a .344 average in August, the Clinton first baseman took home the Midwest League Batter of the Month award handed out earlier today.
He cracked 31 hits with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs and scored 19 runs. The 22-year-old also collected 10 free passes and posted a .406 on-base percentage.
So far this year Coates has hit .268 with 19 home runs, 62 RBIs and 66 runs scored.

 | Guzmán Rips Quad Cities for 5 Hits
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010: Ángelo Guzmán was on fire today and sparked his club to a 11-10 victory over the River Bandits. The Clinton left fielder was a tough out and went 5 for 7 against Quad Cities in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
Ángelo Guzmán walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pedro Díaz in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, struck out in the 12th, singled in the 14th and hit an RBI single in the 15th.
Guzmán is batting at a .350 pace this season, picking up 89 hits in 254 at-bats with 13 home runs, 41 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
