Wednesday, September 1st, 2010: Zhi-qiang Zhào of the Savannah Sand Gnats certainly made a resounding impression on the South Atlantic League pitching corps in August and today reaped the reward as the league's best batter for the period.
The first baseman put up some good offensive figures as he hit .656 with 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
For the year Zhào is hitting .656 with 7 home runs. His stats include 17 RBI and 11 runs scored.

 | Yamada Cracks 5 Hits
Monday, August 30th, 2010: It was a good day all around. Hagerstown whipped Rome 9-8 and Kiyohira Yamada displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Hagerstown Fields.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Kiyohira is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
The 25-year-old second baseman for the Suns collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
Kiyohira Yamada doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pat Sanders in the 3rd, tripled in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and doubled in the 10th.
This season Yamada has 12 home runs and a .292 batting average.
